Sales Engineer Labtech (Semarang Based) - Trading Machinery Industry

Talent Hunts Indonesia is an Executive Search Agency based in Jakarta, currently working with a leading Trading Machinery company in Semarang, who are looking for talent for Sales Engineer Labtech. This role will be responsible for driving sales growth by identifying potential customers and providing high-quality technical solutions for laboratory instrumentation. This role plays a critical part in bridging the gap between complex technical requirements and commercial agreements, acting as a key product advocate and technical advisor for high-precision laboratory equipment. The position requires a self-motivated professional with a strong background in life sciences or chemical engineering, excellent negotiation skills, and a result-oriented mindset.

Job Description:

  • Business Development: Consistently grow target accounts and build a robust sales pipeline by identifying and qualifying new prospects.
  • Technical Advisory: Act as a competent technical advisor and product advocate, conducting technology evaluations and illustrating value propositions to customers' engineering teams.
  • Customer Rapport: Establish and maintain strong personal rapport with customers to understand their key requirements and operational challenges.
  • Campaign Support: Support the Sales Manager in executing marketing campaigns, lead generation, and managing the CRM database effectively.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay attuned to competitor movements and market trends to leverage information for building a stronger market presence.
  • Technical Training: Develop the technical competency of customers' staff by providing in-depth product information and training.
  • Proposal & Negotiation: Prepare cost estimates based on customer blueprints/plans and conduct negotiations to secure win-win agreements.
  • Operational Improvements: Analyze cost-benefit ratios of equipment and propose changes in processes or equipment use to demonstrate cost reductions for clients.
  • Event Representation: Represent the product portfolio at field events, including industry conferences, seminars, and exhibitions.
  • CRM Governance: Maintain meticulous records of all customer communications and sales activities within the CRM system.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related technical field from a reputable university.
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in sales or laboratory positions.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory instrumentation sales (e.g., analytical balances, moisture analyzers) or relevant technical experience.
  • Basic understanding of PC and Networking knowledge.
  • Solid business acumen with intermediate project management and presentation skills.
  • Aggressive, agile, and self-motivated with a passion for succeeding in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Indonesia.
  • Must possess a valid driving license and be prepared to own/use a personal vehicle for field visits.
  • Willing to be based in Semarang, Central Java.
