Operating Manager (Assistant Manager) (Surabaya Based) - Building Material
Talent Hunts Indonesia is an Executive Search Agency based in Jakarta, currently working with Building Material Company, who are looking for talent for Operating Manager (Assistant Manager). This role will be responsible for driving sales performance, managing the sales team, and expanding market penetration for roofing and ACP product lines. This role oversees customer acquisition, relationship building, project-based sales, and strategic market planning, particularly within government and private sector construction projects. The position requires strong leadership, solid experience in building materials, and the ability to work under pressure while achieving ambitious sales targets.

Job Description:
- Conduct routine visits to consultants, architects, developers, contractors, BUMN, government PU/PR offices, and project sites.
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate the sales team to achieve monthly and annual targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively acquiring new customers.
- Develop detailed and measurable sales plans for targeted government and private sector projects.
- Promote and market building material products to consultants for project pipelines.
- Manage the sales team to meet growth and revenue goals set by management.
- Develop and execute effective marketing and sales strategies to expand market coverage and strengthen brand presence.
- Build strong relationships with key customers, contractors, and distributors.
- Analyze market trends, identify new opportunities, and recommend innovative solutions to meet client demands.
- Manage sales and marketing budgets efficiently.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluation for the sales team.
- Ensure compliance with product quality and safety standards during product delivery.
- Oversee account receivables and ensure timely payment collection.
- Collaborate closely with superiors and the manufacturing team regarding sales, marketing programs, and promotional activities.
- Manage reporting, documentation, and other administrative tasks related to sales activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Civil Engineering or Architecture (open for all majors for certain positions).
- Minimum 2 years of experience as Assistant Manager/Manager in Sales or Marketing, preferably in the building materials industry (ACP, Roofing, Alsynite).
- Strong experience in selling building material products to government and private-sector projects.
- Active English proficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and attention to detail.
- Target-oriented, fast-paced, and able to work under pressure.
- Proven experience in market planning, analysis, and strategic execution.
- Good business network with consultants, architects, contractors, and business owners.
- Possess valid driver’s licenses (SIM A & SIM C).
- Willing to travel for business trips.
- Highly self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
