Database Administrator (Jakarta Based) - Information Technology Services

Talent Hunts Indonesia is an Executive Search Agency based in Jakarta, currently working with Information Technology Services  Company, who are looking for talent for their Database Administrator. This position will be responsible for support the operational needs of our enterprise-level databases. This role will work closely with application developers, database administrators (DBA), and other stakeholders to ensure data integrity, system performance, and operational excellence across various database environments including SQL Server, Oracle, and Azure SQL.

Job Description:

  • Execute DDL and DML scripts provided by development teams in a controlled and secure manner.
  • Manage and grant user access privileges in SQL databases, ensuring compliance with internal data security policies.
  • Perform routine and ad-hoc database backup and restore operations to support business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Fulfill database-related user requests, including data retrieval, access setup, and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in database deployment activities for application enhancements, bug fixes, and new application rollouts.
  • Conduct regular database performance tuning and maintenance using tools such as SolarWinds DPA and SAM.
  • Monitor and improve database health and availability to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of database security best practices and ensure adherence across all environments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on experience in database operations or administration.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases (including experience with at least 2–3 Oracle-based applications).
  • Familiarity with Azure SQL (cloud-based database operations).
  • Solid understanding of SQL scripting, including both DDL and DML.
  • Experience with database monitoring and performance tools, particularly SolarWinds DPA and SAM.
  • Practical knowledge of backup/restore procedures and database deployment workflows.
  • Familiarity with database security concepts, including access control, encryption, and auditing.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills in both written and spoken English.
  • Willingness to be on standby for critical operations and work back-to-back with DBA/DBO roles when necessary.
